Plastic for Change has developed a mobile trading platform to provide India’s urban recyclers with fair wages for collecting discarded plastic.

After the success of pilot project in Coimbatore city, the Toronto based organisation is looking to develop a pan-India trading platform. The campaign has already raised 50% of required funds through 10 backers and is currently seeking more funds to extend this programme to poorer regions of the world. The organisation hopes fair wages for waste pickers will help improve plastic recycling rates in developing countries.
