Do you sell PET bottles?

by Goncalo Baptista October 5, 2017 No Comments
Blue PET bottles

In the last few weeks we have been getting ongoing requirements for PET bottles both post consumer and post industrial and both dirty and clean.

Prices can vary depending on quality, cleanliness and location with ex-works prices ranging from 130 euros up to 300 for cleaner, single colour  and less contaminated PET bottles bales.

Whilst the most common demand is for clear, we also see frequent requirements for brown, blue, green and mixed of course.

Mixed pet bottles bales are sometimes in demand as well

The volumes are usually substantial with most customer wanting more than 100 tonnes of PET bottle scrap per month.

The destinations vary. We see demands for Europe, Turkey specifically but also for India  and Middle East.

Price is an important factor but some customers look specifically for higher quality and others for the cheaper lower quality- it really depends on what the recycling process will be for the PET bottles.

Single colour clean bales often command higher prices

Transport cost can be a crippling factor when selling scrap PET Bottles. If a tonne of PET bottles can cost 170 euros ex-works Spain, by the time it makes it to India or even other countries in Europe it can cost substantially more. We have seen transport costs of over 70 euros per tonne, even intra-Europe where it takes place by road. It is advisable to shop around for transport and fit as many tonnes as possible inside a single load.

Finally origin of material is important. PET bottles grades can vary from region to region and whilst not an objective factor, some countries have better reputation than others for quality. Some clients ask to have PET bottles from very specific locations and are indeed prepared to pay for it.

Come and sell your PET bottles now- register with us at www.recycleblu.com and start selling today.
